The UK national press focussed this past weekend on the proposal to lift the ban on commercial whaling, highlighting it as a bad deal for whales.

Both the Sunday Express and The Independent looked at the diplomatic compromises that have fueled the deal, as well as the EU voting mess which could ensure that the deal could get voted through at the IWC meeting in a few weeks time.
