Caribbean humpback whales now have their own Doctor

It is with great pleasure that we inform you that Nadege Gandilhon, pictured below, and who has dedicated many years of her life to marine mammal research at sea, accumulating immense documentation and archival material on our East Caribbean cetaceans, and Humpback whales in particular, presented her work in thesis form to a Jury of international authorities last Friday 6th July 2012, and was awarded her Doctorate with "highest honours".

Nadège is the first of our Caribbean based cetacean scientist to achieve this standard of knowledge. Her thesis, " Contribution to the assessment of cetaceans of the Guadeloupe archipelago", will be available on the internet in pdf format at the Bibliothèque nationale/National LIbrary, France web site, in September - Bravo Nadège !
